When it comes to the subject of wood working, Charlie Hinkel is very familiar around the work shop tools ever since the age of 7 when he started shadowing his dad, John W Hinkel in his traditional archery bow making shop. Charlie was raised in a traditional home in the 1960's-70's with lots of siblings who were natural artisans in several medias including paint, wood carving, stone sculpturing, music and others. This naturally inspired him to use his hands and hone his own styles, designs and creative techniques.
While making decorative Welsh Love Spoons for his wife and other family members he discovered that he really enjoyed not only bringing smiles to their faces, he also had a passion and heartfelt drive in his craft. This is where Wooden Way Creations got it's start.
Charlie married his high school sweet heart, Susan Peterpaul who also has artistic qualities including, sewing, crafting, beading, and writing poetry. Susan has also earned her Associates degree in Office Systems Technology. She handles office details and designing as well as working with Charlie in the production room as needed. She also enjoys testing new products in the kitchen.
